June, 2006. having finished 'Hand to Eye', I thought it might be nice to start an occasional series simply focusing on hand gestures. Afterall, a mere raised finger, thumb can communicate positivity, approval or total abhorance. This one, I feel, just gently asks for quiet and a moment's consideration.
I have a good friend who signs for the deaf - and for future pieces I intend to consult her.
This is the first of the series. It is therefore 'one'. Again, evoked by music. In this instance Aimee Mann's reworking of the Harry Nilson song from the movie 'Magnolia'.
Acrylics on canvas 400 x 300mm. SOLD
